A Cherry Valley man is arrested after police say he broke into and vandalized the Temple Emanuel Sinai in Worcester.

Police found a broken window and some damage to the Temple on Wednesday.

On Thursday, officers responded to the Jewish Community Center [JCC] for a report of a man, now identified as 28-year-old Kyle Wood, screaming at parents and children and kicking the Star of David.

Police say Wood got into his car and drove off to the Temple where he broke in again.

Leaders of the JCC say it's upsetting to see this type of behavior.

“Fortunately no one was injured or affected by it, no physically bodily harm was done but it’s still a very troubling incident, but Worcester Police responded quickly and apprehended the perpetrator rather quickly," said Steven Schimmel, the executive director of the Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts.

"We got a chance to talk to all the children during the day. They all talked to their counselors and staff. They learned that this individual had been apprehended and charged so they were really reassured by that knowledge," said Emily Rosenbaum, the Executive Director of the Worcester JCC.

Wood is charged with Breaking and Entering and Vandalism.

The investigation is still open and more charges are possible.
