WORCESTER - Dozens head to Regatta Point on Lake Quinsigamond to celebrate the Fourth of July and enjoy the nice weather.
The state requires beach goers to wear masks were not swimming and maintain 12 feet distance between groups. Picnic areas should also be closed or social distancing cannot be maintained. People in Worcester did use the picnic and grilling area.
They say it was great to celebrate the holiday outdoors.
Joeli Nivar is visiting family in Worcester and said, "It feels good to be out here and just get some air after so many months of being under quarantine. It feels good to be out here under the sun, you know? We were very hesitant. We came from New York and we were thinking of staying home, but we said let’s go out and get some air.”
Several state park parking areas filled to capacity Saturday morning.
