WORCESTER - 67 years ago, a deadly tornado tore through parts of Worcester and its surrounding communities.
On June 9th, 1953 an F-4 tornado touched down in Petersham around 4:30PM, traveling through Rutland, Holden, North Worcester, Shrewsbury, Westborough, and Southborough. The storm killed 94 people and injured nearly 1,300.
The Worcester Tornado wiped out homes and left about 10,000 people homeless.
