WORCESTER - Quinsigamond Community College has announced its plans for students this fall. The school says they will continue remote instruction.

President Dr. Luis Pedraja said because of the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, the decision is being made to ensure the safety of the college's students, faculty and staff.

There will be a small number of courses, including labs or clinical experiences requiring hands-on participation which will be offered on campus.

Dr. Pedraja said they're making the announcement now to ensure classrooms with hands-on learning are ready, faculty has time to prepare courses, and for students to know what learning at QCC in the fall will look like.

"Students are starting to sing up now for the fall courses, so we wanted to make sure they know what they're going into rather than signing up for one experience and then once they get close they discover something else," Dr. Pedraja said.

Pedraja said most of the staff has already been trained in remote learning, and they will continue the training. He said the school is also working with Financial Aid to ensure students have access to technology.
