The last two months have definitely been unusual for the town offices in North Brookfield.

Tara Hayes, North Brookfield Town Clerk, "We're doing as much as we can for the town offices. It has been difficult because people want to come in and pay bills, things like that."

But slowly, things are returning to normal. After a delay of roughly a month the town will hold it's election on Monday, June 1st. Like many, North Brookfield was forced to push back their normal operations amid concerns of the coronavirus. They'll be on e of the first in Central Massachusetts to have their election.

Hayes, "No overrides, no questions, no challenged positions. It is a very simple election."

The town will also be one of the first to hold their annual town meeting later this week. Expecting a voter turnout of roughly ten percent, Town Clerk Tara Hays says they've taken all the precautions to ensure the safety of voters and poll workers.

"We are providing shields for the election workers. There is going to be masks, we're going to sanitize everything. Voters will be limited to five. It's going to be a one way come in the main door and out the side door."
