WORCESTER - The DCU Center Field Hospital is being taken down, but steps are being taken in case it needs to be reactivated.

The City of Worcester says some of the resources will be stored by the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency and will be distributed to locations as needed.

UMass Memorial Healthcare ran the facility and will be keeping their hospital equipment inside the DCU Center in case of another surge.

The 214-bed facility was constructed in early April to treat overflow coronavirus patients.

It suspended operations last week.
