WORCESTER - The Worcester Islamic Center hosted its third food drive in as many weeks on Saturday.

The Center distributed hot meals to anyone who drove up.

Mayor Joe Petty was among those handing out meals.

Three hundred meals were handed out at the Center and later 50 more were taken to UMass Memorial for frontline workers.

In a time like this, Worcester Islamic Center president Dr. Muhammed Ramzan says their community looks to be generous.

Dr. Ramzan said, "I know it's a tough time for those who may have lost a job, going through hardship, but then those who are able to afford, they are very generous. They have come forward and we are very happy they are contributing. They are donating so they can help other community members. So, it's a wonderful thing. We are very excited about it."

On Friday, May 22, the Center will be hosting another food drive for anyone who needs it.
