One of Anna Maria's music programs is going virtual for students in Worcester Public Schools.

OpporTUNEity is a community-based music program where undergraduate students teach music to children living in poverty.

The college is implementing virtual music classes for children at Lincoln Street Elementary School and Burncoat Middle School.

Dr. Melissa Martiros, says music is an important way for people to stay together during the stay at home advisory.

"We're trying really hard to make sure we remain in studies so they know when this is all done they can still come back to us, but for now were trying to give them something positive to look forward to. Faces to see everyday delivering positive messages and trying to keep them engaged to music I think they need a positive outlet during this time."

15 student instructors are filling the virtual classroom with video tutorials.
