WORCESTER - Becker College students have put up a periodic table in their Student Center.

But the letters aren't representing elements, they're paying tribute to Black History Month.

Each of the 90 squares represents a person of color who has made a significant impact in history. Different areas are represented including athletes, musicians and activists.

Becker's Black Student Union put the project together and said they hope students look up the different names and can gain inspiration from their stories.

Luc-Henry Portes said, "I basically want students to be educated that there are people like them who have done it before, or even people who aren't of African American descent, that there are people out here doing big things."

The Black Student Union will be holding a number of events for Black History Month, including a candlelight vigil at its Leicester campus on Wednesday at 7 PM.
