Clark University announced a new President on Monday. David Fithian is Clark's tenth President. He graduated from the university in 1987. Currently he is the Executive Vice President at the University of Chicago. Fithian says his first priority is to listen to faculty and staff. To get their thought on the current state of Clark.
Fithian, "Coming back to Clark is real a homecoming for me. It was a tremendously influential institution when I was seventeen, eighteen years old and I immediately felt comfortable on campus. And it's the place that really sparked my intellectual curiosity interest in pursuing research in a graduate degree. The partnership Clark has forged particularly over the last twenty-five years with the Main South community and Worcester has evolved n tremendously positive and it's exciting for me to come back and build upon that."
Fithian will begin his duties July first. He takes over for David Angel, who is retiring in June after serving as Clark's President for ten years.
