WORCESTER - The City of Worcester announced they have officially completed a community benefits agreement for Polar Park.
The Worcester Community Labor Coalition had been calling for a CBA since the Triple-A team announced their move to Worcester in 2018.
The 14-page document includes multiple topics including hiring requirements, funding, diversity goals.
The agreement says: "The city and team are committed to ensuring that the project fits well into the surrounding urban environment, respects and uplifts its neighbors in the Canal District and the Green Island neighborhood, and creates civic, cultural, and economic benefits in the City of Worcester and beyond."
The city also announced the cost for the ballpark project increased by more than 9-million dollars but says the team will cover the added cost.
