SPRINGFIELD -It's been more than 6 weeks since 76-year-old Rafael Dingui went missing. His daughter Carmen Dingui has been actively searching ever since his disappearance.

"I don't know what else for us to do,” said Carmen. “We drive everyday."

His family tells us it was typical for him to go on walks every day. He would walk to the Racing Mart and a nearby convenience store to play lottery numbers.

Ryan Walsh, the Public information officer for the Springfield Police Department says they have been actively investigating.

"Our detectives have gone out and canvased popular areas he would visit,” said Walsh. “They pulled video from convenience stores he used to visit."

But there have been no signs of Rafael or any information about his disappearance.

"This is a man who doesn't suffer from substance abuse,” said Carmen. “He doesn't suffer from mental illness, dementia or Alzheimer's."

Carmen says her father moved in with her 14 years.

"Hes a really good dad. He has always been there for me and my kids,” she said.

She says its not like her dad to just disappear. “You don't realize how hard it is until it actually affects you. You know?"

Rafael doesn’t speak English and doesn’t know how to use a cell phone.

Police say their search for answers is active and ongoing.

"They are out there just about every day searching different areas, revisiting areas, following different leads, no matter how outlandish they might be,” said Walsh.

"We all miss him and just want him home,” said Carmen. “We want him home."

Anyone with any information on Rafael’s whereabouts are asked to contact police.
