WORCESTER, Mass. - A popular way families celebrate moms on Mother's Day is going out to eat.
The Compass Tavern in Worcester welcomed families Sunday for a brunch buffet.
General Manager Stephen Domenick said there were some challenges in organizing a buffet with COVID-19 restrictions in place, but they were able to come up with a safe option in the end.
He said it was a welcome sight to see families out and about for the holiday.
"It's obviously not normal, but to have a sense of normalcy, and to be able to let people celebrate their moms and grandmas and guardians is great,” Domenick said. “I think it's good for us and kind of Worcester and Mass. in general."
The Compass Tavern said once the pandemic comes to an end, they're hopeful they can bring back their normal Sunday brunch.
