Local organization Centro has made its first delivery of personal protective equipment to the Worcester County food bank.

The COVID-19 response kits contain masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer. Each kit also includes instructions in both English and Spanish on how to properly use the materials.

Centro says it’s trying to address the impact of the coronavirus on the region's more vulnerable communities.

"We want to make sure that they do have the PPE supplies they need. We want to make sure that they know how to properly use their masks," said Mayerling de La Rosa, the director of community support programs for Centro. “We want to make sure that they know the resources are available, and that they can reach out to community partners or agencies that are willing to help them and provide services to services they need.”

In addition to food banks, they'll also be distributing the PPE to houses of worship in the area.
