LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The No. 1-seeded University of Louisville volleyball team reached its fourth straight NCAA Regional Final with a sweep of No. 4-seeded Purdue (25-17, 25-18, 25-18) on Thursday night in Freedom Hall.

“We’re thrilled with our performance tonight,” said head coach Dani Busboom Kelly. “We stayed super consistent against a tough Purdue team. They hit .273, which is excellent, but we showed growth and a new mindset from our recent matches. I’m so proud of the team.”

Louisville delivered a season-best .467 hitting percentage, amassing 52 kills, 33 digs, five blocks, and three aces. Freshman setter Nayelis Cabello led with all three aces and 23 of the team’s 51 assists. Outside hitter Charitie Luper hit an impressive .571 with 13 kills and nine digs, while Anna DeBeer recorded 15 kills, a .393 hitting percentage, and seven digs. Sofia Maldonado Diaz contributed seven kills and led with three blocks, supported by middle blockers Phekran Kong, Cara Cresse and Reese Robins. Robins also tallied seven kills on 10 attempts.

Purdue fought hard, hitting .273 with 37 kills, 26 digs, and seven blocks. Middle blocker Raven Colvin shined, hitting .550 with 13 kills and five blocks in her final match. Outside hitter and AVCA Player of the Year semi-finalist Eva Hudson added 10 kills, six digs, and two blocks.

Louisville now prepares to face No. 2-seeded Stanford for the third time this season on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Freedom Hall. The winner will advance to the NCAA Final Four, hosted at the KFC Yum! Center on Dec. 19.

The two teams are evenly matched in 2024, with Louisville claiming a sweep in the KFC Yum! Center on Sept. 29, and Stanford securing a 3-1 win in California on Nov. 30. This will mark just the fifth all-time meeting between the programs. Fans can catch Saturday’s game live on ESPN2.
