COVINGTON, Ky. — On Saturday, the Kenton County Public Library branch in Covington celebrated the opening of Science in Play2Go. Program Coordinator Kari Jones said that quite a few different things can be found to play and interact with in the exhibit—stuff that’s more STEM-focused.

What You Need To Know

  • The Kentucky Science Center created an exhibit that travels through Kentucky

  • The Science in Play2Go Exhibit is now open at the Kenton County Public Library branch in Covington

  • It allows kids to play and interact with games that are a little more STEM-focused

  • It will be at the library through May 28, 2022

“It’s just to encourage our patrons to come out with their families, with their schools, with their community groups, and just participate in something maybe you wouldn’t be able to get to on your own,” Jones said.

The exhibit comes from the Kentucky Science Center out of Louisville. Jones said one thing at the exhibit is a life-size Lite Brite, which is something Cameron and Chloe Donatelli were playing with during their time at the exhibit. Cameron said it’s his favorite part.

“Because you can make a lot of stuff,” he said.

Besides giving kids and families something fun to do, it’s also providing a small sense of normalcy for the library.

“We’ve been doing in-person stuff for a while—but we haven’t really had anything big like this since COVID,” Jones said.

Jones said people can enjoy the exhibit through May 28, 2022.
