MOUNT STERLING, Ky. — Thursday was a busy day for first responders. The Clark County Sheriff's Office was posting updates on crash after crash reported on I-64 as snow accumulated throughout the afternoon.

“You couldn’t go more than 37 miles an hour- any faster than that, you were at risk," David Hollway said on Friday.
Holloway said he was traveling the interstate during the snow storm, and began counting cars involved in those reported incidents.
“[We saw] up to like 26-27, and then we ended up stopping counting but it could have been twice that many probably," Holloway said.
Timothy Howard was also driving down the interstate when snow began falling.
“Strangely enough, quite a few vehicles were still passing us going like 60 miles an hour, so it’s not that big of a surprise that everything happened the way it did," Howard said.
Dozens of cars involved lead to the shutdown of the interstate for many hours. As of Friday morning, both lanes were open.
