TAYLORSVILLE, Ky. — Veteran’s Club, an organization that provides resources to Kentucky veterans, has decided to open up its individual equine sessions for all frontline heroes.

Veteran’s Club defines frontline heroes as anyone working in healthcare, first responders, grocery store employees, truck drivers, mail carriers, delivery persons, sanitation workers and custodians.

The organization is conducting individual sessions by the hour due to their pledge to follow CDC recommendations and guidelines set out by the Beshear administration.

Jeremy Harrell, founder and CEO, said that despite being a veteran service organization, the group is very supportive of their counterparts in public safety and public health.

“We wanted to really allow people to focus on themselves,” said Harrell. “To practice self-care and to recognize that they have stuff they need to endure each and every day.”

People can head to their website or Facebook page to inquire about a session. There will be no charge to frontline heroes.

Veteran’s Club made it their goal to aid in the healing, recovery and service to the community. The group wants to ensure they can help facilitate an opportunity for essential personnel to destress, combat anxiety and fear and create an opportunity to be in a serene environment with horses.

The group also offers equine therapy sessions to spouses and children of veterans. Harrell said they want to do their part to help fight against the mental health crisis.

“We saw the mental health threat coming, that’s why we developed new programs and tailored other ones to ensure that we can be supportive in that way.”
