VERSAILLES, Ky. — With The Kentucky Castle in Versailles closed due to the coronavirus, the employees decided to give back to the community by using their resources to prepare and deliver meals to frontline workers.

"We are going all over the community, you know, we're really targeting the people that are on the front lines that are helping the other people that are in need," Director of Health and Wellness, Rebecca Dickerson said.

In early April, the workers at the Kentucky Castle started working seven days a week to help deliver meals around town.

Right now, they have made and delivered over 9,000 meals around the Central Kentucky area to hospitals, police stations, and other local healthcare facilities.

Last weekend was their last day delivering meals, and they are now turning their focus on reopening making sure to follow CDC guidelines so they can safely invite the community members back into the castle.
