CINCINNATI, Oh. — Kroger shoppers will notice more changes around stores to keep employees and shoppers safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kroger is allowing employees to wear protective masks and gloves. The company understands the national shortage and the company says it is asking the government to help secure items for grocery workers after healthcare workers.

Kroger is now installing plexiglass partitions at many cash registers to promote distancing between customers and cashiers. The partitions are being installed this week and every check-out lane, pharmacy counters, and Starbucks registers should have them in the next few weeks.

Stores are also adding floor stickers to show the proper distancing at cash registers and other counters.

The store has changed daily sanitation practices, cleaning common areas like cashier stations and self-checkouts, credit card terminals, and other areas more frequently.
