LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Kentucky is practicing their social distancing as they have their students move out for the semester. The school is only allowing students to move out during certain time slots throughout the day.

“We live where we go to school, so if things get worse, I personally don’t want to be away from my family. I’m kinda glad that they are doing it." Student at UK, Kelsey Mata said.

Students are being asked to limit the number of family members and friends they have to help them move out to accommodate with the CDC recommendations.

With the limited help, UK supplied students garbage bags and carts to help carry out their belongings.

Students that were uable to move during the time periods allowed or who have other circmunstances preventing relocation, are applying for exemptions to allow them to live in single-room residence halls on campus.

All students that can move out have until Friday, March 28.
