David is no stranger to Kentucky, having worked as a reporter at WAVE 3, the NBC station in Louisville, earlier in his career. He started his career at WRTV, the ABC affiliate in Indianapolis, on the Assignment Desk. He then went to work as a reporter at KWTX in Waco, Texas, followed by WAVE, WTLV/WJXX in Jacksonville, Fla., and WOFL in Orlando, prior to WISH.
In Indianapolis, David served as Statehouse Bureau Chief for former sister stations across the state. He was also one of the reporters to cover the deadly shooting at a FedEx facility that took the lives of several people. Among other stories he covered in Central Indiana were several snow storms and “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” the Indianapolis 500.
While in Orlando, David covered several Central Florida counties and big stories, including hurricanes, tropical storms, and the Pulse Nightclub tragedy. David and his work have also appeared many times on Fox News Channel, and has been featured on USAToday.com, abcnews.com, BBC Radio 5, and stations across the nation.
A native of Beltsville, Md., David originally wanted to become a doctor, but he fell in love with broadcasting in high school. Classmates voted him “Most likely to become a journalist” in middle school, and it stuck. He is a proud graduate of Ball State University’s College of Communication, Information and Media, where he majored in Telecommunications with a concentration in News. While at BSU, he wore a variety of hats including News Director, anchor, reporter and producer, while also serving as a reporter for NewsLink Indiana on WIPB-TV in Muncie.
An avid traveler, David enjoys trying different foods and being outdoors. He and his partner Brandon live in Louisville with their dog Mickey, and he is thrilled to be back in Kentucky!
