Eastern Kentucky was overwhelmed with rain Wednesday night as more than 6 inches fell in some places.

These are some of the rainfall amounts from that particular bout of rain:

  • Hazard: 8.98"
  • Buckhorn: 8.58"
  • Oneida: 7.20"
  • Sassafras: 6.80"
  • Wiscoal: 6.50"
  • Pippa Passes: 5.69"

A Flood Watch is still in effect across most of central and eastern Kentucky until this afternoon or evening.

A few showers may still develop into the late-morning and early afternoon hours.

Most activity begins to fade away by the evening and we will settle into a drier pattern with no additional rain showers.

Skies become clearer tonight, leading to calm conditions.
