The warm weather continues, and today is expected to be the warmest day of the year thus far for many cities (including Louisville, Lexington, and Bowling Green)!  Highs across the state will reach the Mid-upper 80s ahead of a slow moving cold front that won't cross until Friday. It'll be muggy with dew points in the low 60s, and rain-relief from the heat is not expected. Yet,around Midnight, isolated showers/storms will start to move into extreme Western KY. Showers and storms will, then, filter in across the state throughout our Thursday...and some storms could reach severe limits.  There is a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) for severe weather on Thursday; so, have ways of getting severe weather alerts tomorrow.  The best timing for storms will be in the afternoon/early evening. It'll also be a bit cooler for Thursday due to clouds and rain cooled air. Highs will stay in the 70s.   Rainfall estimates of 1" are possible (locally, there could be higher amounts).

Friday morning, the previously mentioned cold front will cross the area.  Expect lingering showers through at least Midday Friday, then a slow clearing behind the front.  It'll be a cooler last day of the workweek with highs around the upper 60s.

Saturday, there could be a spotty shower...but it looks like the front will stall well south of our area into Northern MS & AL.  However, an area of low pressure will develop along that front and move north across our state...then merge with a cold front that'll come in from the Plains. These features will lead to a chance of scattered showers for Mother's Day Sunday.  Make sure to plan for rain if you'll be celebrating mom outdoors.
