ROCHESTER, N.Y. — After a three-game series on the road, the Rochester Red Wings home opener that was scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed due to weather. The team says the game against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs will be made up at a later date and home opener tickets can be exchanged for any home game during the season.

When that happens, line drives, double plays and home runs will all take place on a meticulously manicured Innovative Field.

The Red Wings — the top minor-league affiliate of Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals — are ready to welcome fans and so are the food vendors. Of course, the home opener for the Red Wings always has the 50-degree guarantee: If it doesn't hit 50 degrees, ticket holders can redeem their tickets for another game in April or May.

Since it didn't make it to 50, and the game was also postponed, fans will be able to exchange their tickets for any future home game during the 2024 regular season.

Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason stands behind that guarantee. He is celebrating his 35th home opener with the club.

"I still get butterflies every single opening day," said Mason. "When I wake up, it's like Christmas morning as a little kid. It is that same nervous energy feeling. I am very excited about our team. It is go time now."

Tickets start at just $13. For ticket options, click here.
