He added, "We look forward to welcoming back and recognizing these elite student-athletes who elevated their respective programs and UofL Athletics."
Harry Douglas
Harry Douglas played for Bobby Petrino and the Cards from 2004-2007. He ranks second in career receiving yards at UofL with 2,924 yards and still holds the single-game record for his 13 catches, 223 yard performance against Kentucky in 2007. A native of Jonesboro, Georgia, Douglas was honored twice as a member of the All-Big East first team. Douglas helped the Cardinals to a 12-1 season in 2006 winning the Big East Championship and the Orange Bowl. He was a third-round NFL Draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons. He played nine seasons in the pros with Atlanta and the Tennessee Titans. Douglas is now an analyst with ESPN.
Elvis Dumervil
From 2002-05 everyone knew when Elvis was in the building. Dumervil was a dominating defensive end for the Cardinals and head coach Bobby Petrino. Dumervil ranks second in career sacks with 32. Dumervil was a consensus All-American in his senior year and won the Bronco Nagurski Award as the nation's top defensive player and the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation's top defensive end. In 2005 he not only set a school record but led the nation with 20 sacks. Dumervil was a fourth-round NFL draft pick by the Denver Broncos and was a four-time NFL Pro Bowl selection. He spent 12 seasons in the pros with Denver, the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers.
Bergan Foley
2008 was the inaugural year for UofL's women's lacrosse and Bergan Foley (2008-11) was one of the first players to suit up. In her senior year, Foley set a single-season record with 78 goals and currently holds the school-record for 265 career goals. That's 72 more than the current second-place number. Originally from Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, Foley would become UofL's first All-American in women's lacrosse and would also win All-Big East Conference honors three times. She is now an account director in New York.
Joanna Haig
Joanna Haig transferred to UofL in 2006 from Iowa State and finished up her final two collegiate seasons as a Card. This record-setting goalie is the schools career leader with a goals-against average of 0.48 and her 20 shutouts in her two seasons is the second-most by a Cardinal. Originally from Inver Grove, Minnesota, Haig produced 12 shutouts in 2007, a school record. That same year she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-American first team and the Big East Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. She helped lead the Cardinals to a pair of NCAA appearances in 2006 and 2007.
Logan Johnson
Logan Johnson played for head coach Dan McDonnell and the Cardinals from 2004-07. The second baseman was part of Louisville's first College World Series team in 2007. Johnson holds a series of records at UofL including career doubles (66), career hit by pitch (HBP) (74), single-season doubles (27 in 2007) and single-season HBP (32 in 2007). The Owensboro native hit four home runs and six RBI in Louisville's three games of the 2007 College World Series. In his career at UofL, Johnson had 34 home runs, 167 RBI and 180 runs scored. He played four years professionally after college.
Melissa Roth
Melissa Roth was a catcher for head coach Sandy Pearsall's softball team and helped the team make four NCAA Regional appearances and win 157 games during her time at UofL (2007-10). Originally from Long Beach, California, Roth is the only two-time All-American in UofL softball history. In 2009 she was named the Big East Player of the Year. That year she hit a school-record .444, scored a UofL record 64 runs and had a slugging percentage of .870. She still owns the Cardinals record for slugging percentage (. 665), runs scored (204), doubles (68) and on-base percentage (. 503). In 2010 she was the third overall pick in the National Professional Fastpitch Association senior draft.
Each of the inductees will be honored with a reception, dinner and the induction ceremony in October. Tickets are $50 per person or $500 for a 10-person table and can be bought online. The Hall of Fame inductees will also be introduced during the Cardinals' football game on Oct. 23 against Boston College.
