LEXINGTON, Ky. — Coming out of a pandemic and trying to lure people back out so they can enjoy life is top of mind for many of Kentucky's institutions. Keeneland is no exception.

Lexington's iconic horse track announced it is hosting Breakfast at the Track a couple of times this summer. The new Kentucky Crafted event is set for Saturday, June 19 and Saturday, July 10 from 8-10 a.m.

Breakfast at the Track will treat guests to your not-so-standard fare including Buckles Mini Carrot Cake Jacks and a doughnut hole bar for the kids. You will also find breakfast burritos, an everything bagel sandwich and more. Guests will also be treated to pony rides for the kids, Paddock demonstrations from equine partners and other interactive equine-themed events.

In a statement Keeneland President and CEO Shannon Arvin said, "Keeneland is excited to open our gates and welcome the community back to the track." Arvin continued, "This will be a fantastic summer as we reconnect with family, friends and those special places in our lives. Breakfast at the Track is a fitting way for Keeneland to show its appreciation for our fans and to thank them for their continued support and enthusiasm, particularly during this past year.”

Tickets for both breakfasts are on sale now for $20 for adults and $12 for children. Tickets include admission and unlimited breakfast options. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

The Keeneland Crafted events don't stop there. On June 30 there will be a belt-making workshop presented by Keeneland Mercantile. The workshop will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Attendees will be treated to hors d'oeuvres and bourbon cocktails while leather craftsmen Clayton & Crume talk about the techniques used for creating handmade leather belts. Each guest will get a leather belt. Tickets for this event go on sale Friday, June 4 at 10 a.m. and are $108 per person.

Keeneland is a National Historic Landmark and fans can watch horses train on the main track every morning from 6-10 a.m. Visitors can also take a self-guided walking tour. You can find maps and more information here.
