LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Days after the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) shuffled upcoming football games because of positive coronavirus tests, it has done it again.
Saturday the ACC announced a pair of schedule changes for the University of Louisville. The Cardinals were scheduled to travel to Boston College on Dec. 12, but now the Cards and Eagles will meet up Saturday, Nov. 28. The ACC will announce game time and television network Sunday, Nov. 22.
The final home game for the season will now take place on Dec. 19 when the Cardinals welcome the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest to Cardinal Stadium. 18 football Cardinals will be honored before the game. The Cards were supposed to play Wake on Nov. 28 but Wake Forest reported positive coronavirus tests and with quarantining within the team, a Saturday game would be impossible. Wake, as well as all ACC schools, continue to follow the outlined ACC Medical Advisory Group protocols.
Wake Forest was supposed to play Duke on Nov. 21, but the ACC announced that game not only isn't taking place, but it is also not being rescheduled. If Wake Forest is able to play a game by Nov. 28, the ACC said it would allow the team to play a second non-conference game.
The ACC also announced the postponement of Saturday's Clemson and Florida State game. The postponement came hours before the scheduled noon kick off. The teams medical staffs didn't believe they could continue with the game.
Game time and television network for the Cardinals Dec. 19 game will be announced later.
