LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Taking a page from the Kentucky Derby, the Breeders' Cup World Championships announced it would not allow fans at Keeneland in November.

The Breeders' Cup is set to take place on November 6 and 7. In a statement, Breeders' Cup President & CEO Drew Fleming said, " I can assure you that this decision was not made lightly and that I am just as disappointed about these unfortunate circumstances as anyone, given that this unusual year will mark my first Breeders’ Cup as President and CEO. However, especially considering the international nature of the event, we simply cannot jeopardize the health and safety of our fans and the local Lexington community."

Anyone who bought tickets to the World Championships will receive a full refund. Breeders' Cup has set up a special website to handle refunds and answer any of your questions.

Fleming also announced the Breeders' Cup would be returning to Lexington in 2022. He said, "The local community and loyal fans like you deserve the opportunity to experience the event at its full potential and we are delighted to be coming back to Lexington in just two short years."

NBC Sports will broadcast the 2020 World Championships from Keeneland just as it did the Kentucky Derby.
