In the suit Former UofL Coach Rick Pitino alleged Adidas knowingly or recklessly caused him emotional distress when the company conspired to bribe UofL basketball recruits. Tuesday U.S. District Court Judge David J. Hale dismissed the lawsuit and said the issue must first be handled in arbitration. Pitino filed the suit last October and Adidas filed a motion to dismiss it in November. In today’s decision, Judge Hale also sided with Adidas in ruling that any court action should be filed in Oregon as required under an endorsement deal Pitino signed with the shoe company.
