Overdrive Performance in Glasgow is offering free rides to New Year’s Eve revelers who have had too much to drink.

Charlie Copper, a mechanic at Overdrive Performance, said, “There’s nobody around his area that hasn’t been touched or affected by somebody that’s been in an accident with a drunk driver.”

Copper said, “Getting home safe is one of the most important things. If you leave, you expect to come back, and we should be able to come back. Making it safe for everybody is the prime goal.”

The business has been trying to save lives with free rides for 15 years.

Employees at the company suggested the idea after seeing too many crashes on the last day of the year.

Cropper said, “The simple solution was just to drive people home. So, that’s what we started doing.”
