TEXAS — Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell not. Christmas music is heavily ingrained in the shopping experience of many Americans during the holiday season, and FinanceBuzz has narrowed down the merriest song for Texas.

For another year, the most popular Christmas song among Texans is “Feliz Navidad,” according to FinanceBuzz. While “Jingle Bells” was the most popular song in the country, Texas and Florida both stood out for the status quo with “Feliz Navidad.”

The Spanish Christmas song was written and recorded in 1970 by Puerto Rican artist José Feliciano. Feliciano told The New Yorker he wrote the holiday hit in 10 minutes and recorded it in one take.

While ranking most popular among Texans, the Christmas classic also ranked third on The Top 10 Most Annoying Christmas Songs, according to a separate survey done by the finance publication.

The study was done by collecting Google Trends search interest data on the 25 highest-charting Christmas songs on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of Christmas 2023.
