What You Need To Know

  •  The Catholic Action Center held its 29th annual Faith and Community Thanksgiving Day Meal

  •  More than 750 meals were given out to Lexington residents in need

  •  Over 100 volunteers helped with putting everything together to pull off the Thanksgiving meal

More than 250 Thanksgiving meals were packed and delivered to people staying in hotels throughout the city for the Winter Shelter Program and the center’s Give Kids a Home Program. About another 500 meals were given away at the center.

“You don’t want to get jaded when the holidays come around and forget that there are good people in our community that just need a little helping hand and everybody’s been there at some point in their life,” said Angela Deakle, who volunteered with the center to help pack the meals.

This was the 29th year that the center has hosted the thanksgiving meal.

“This is one way that we at the Catholic Action Center do to let the community know how much we appreciate them, how much we appreciate people in need who maybe feel like they may not have a Thanksgiving Day meal,” said Ginny Ramsey, the director and co-founder of the Catholic Action Center.

This year’s meal all came together thanks to the help of more than 100 volunteers.
