Tee Tee and her family are some of more that 400 volunteers spending their day at Hotel Louisville.

Wayside Christian Mission is serving up to 3,000 free plates for people in need.

“This is the best and the busiest day of the year here at Wayside Christian mission. We are so blessed to have so many volunteers here helping us today,” said Chief Operating Officer for Wayside Christian Mission, Nina Moseley.

Hot breakfast started at 7 a.m. with pancakes and bacon.

As for lunch and dinner, people staying in the shelter, the hotel and anyone in need come to have the traditional Thanksgiving feast.

“We have 90 turkeys and then just all the trimmings that you can imagine for thanksgiving,” said Moseley.

“I feel like selfless care is honestly the best self care. Just giving back. Helping other people So when we heard about the opportunity, we had to jump on it,” said volunteer Ethan Louden.

And the Grants are already looking forward to next year.

“We wake up Thanksgiving day just wanting to give back and think about others who are less fortunate,” said Tee Tee.
