LEXINGTON, Ky. — Zombies are taking over Lexington. But don't worry, it's all for fun, as part of the "RADIOLEX Zombie Crawl."
Diego Espinoza, assistant manager and producer for RADIOLEX, said players are tasked with a small exploration of the city for the event, set for Sunday, Oct. 20 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each player must sign in individually to receive points and info on the game, such as catchy clues and zombie-style missions.
The hunt ends downtown as the city celebrates its Halloween festival at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse. Zombies will be in full force as part of the annual "Thriller" parade.
Espinoza said part of the mission is helping underrepresented voices, and his team is working on multiple ways to get others involved. They're inviting the community to join them for a festive way to enjoy the city.
“Not only to go out and play, have fun, but you’re supporting us, and you’re supporting businesses in the community.” Espinoza said.
Registration remains open for the scavenger hunt, and teams of up to five players can join. The event is $5 to register, and "brains" collected will go toward rewards such as Cincinnati Reds tickets.
