Trees snapped like twigs in some areas. In Jeffersontown, a section of North Hite Avenue, near Field Avenue, was blocked by a fallen tree. The storms were fast, yet powerful.

“It was a little spooky, a little spooky. You can always run down to the basement if things get pear-shaped,” said Doug Abel, who lives in the area.

In the same J’town neighborhood, utility poles were snapped and wires were exposed. Power lines were also knocked down.

Abel said, “Just to show the misses why I’m taking so long on this dog walk.”

Robert Clamage lost have power at his house for quite a while.

When asked how it was going while having no power at home, he said, “I hung out until about 1 a.m. this morning. It got too hot. I had no fans going, had no A/C going. I said the Hell with it. I jumped in the car, went to a motel, threw on the A/C right away.”

Now, the clean up happens so people in the neighborhood can get back to the way things were.
