The Warren County Family Resource Center and Youth Services Center came together to host a Back-to-School Bash July 22, helping give families and their children a fresh start.

Vendors gave out free folders, pencils and notebooks for every family. Some also offered tips on how to stay mentally well during the school year, such as having a good sleep schedule.

“Human bodies are not designed to function for 20 hours in a row," said Kim Wilson, president of Wilson Counseling.

Others even gave out a step-by-step guide on how children should stay on top of hygiene at an early age.

“It can have a long-lasting effect if you don’t take care of your teeth early," said Brian Goins, inside sales coordinator for School Smiles.

Some students said these resources are helpful, as they don't have to scramble for school supplies and it makes them aware of what they have at their disposal during the academic year.

“If you go to one place, it doesn’t have everything you need, so this place (is) more sufficient," said Warren County student Lian Muan.

School kicks off in Warren County Wednesday, Aug. 7.
