KENTUCKY — On this week’s ‘In Focus Kentucky’ program, Mario Anderson sits down with Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky., and first lady Britainy Beshear for a wide-ranging conversation from the state capitol reception room in Frankfort.

During this segment, first lady Beshear discusses the 2023 election, current political climate in Kentucky and the nation, plus priority items she hopes to address in 2024.

“I’ve watched him for years, but this past election cycle, really the importance of caring for your neighbor. And, you know, for us, our neighbor isn’t just the person that lives next door to us. It’s every person out there, every person counts and the message I think that Andy carries everywhere is that you’re an individual person, each individual’s child of God matters, and their voice is important and so watching Andy, You know, he talks a lot about you, we wake up in the morning, what are the things that you worry about? It’s not what the letter is behind your name. It’s what kind of education are my children getting? Are they safe schools? How will I put food on the table? How will I keep a roof over our heads? Those are the things that matter to us and I think matter greatly to most people in Kentucky, so I think, you know, it was great watching him this year,” said Beshear.
