KENTUCKY — Rep. Morgan McGarvey, D-Louisville, Kentucky’s only Democrat in Congress joins In Focus Kentucky to chat about a wide range of topics, including weighing on former President Donald Trump, who is facing criminal charges in four different cases and whether he thinks the top front-runner in the 2024 Republican primary for president is still capable of leading the party.
“Everyone should be held accountable. There is no one too powerful to be above the law in this country. And so as we watch that system play out, we just have to let it do that. Now, obviously, I don’t want Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States. I think in all of his actions from before he was in office to while he was in office, show that he does not have the temperament and ability of someone leading our country. But that is separate to me whether I want him to be president. As to the judicial process, the judicial process should play out that should lead to an impartial way. We’ve had grand juries determined that there’s enough evidence there to indict him on charges. Let’s let that process play out. It is separate than how I feel about him as a political candidate,” said McGarvey.
Also during this segment, McGarvey chats about his bipartisan work serving as a member of the Congressional Dads Caucus for the 118th Congress.
