LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Twenty-six people have been arrested and charged in connection to a methamphetamine and fentanyl drug trafficking ring in Louisville.

The FBI Louisville Field Office and other surrounding agencies arrested those individuals at several locations in Jefferson County.

According to a news release from the United States Attorney’s Office, eight people have yet to be arrested.  

On Aug. 16, a federal grand jury in Louisville charged 34 Louisville and Southern Indiana residents in four indictments. The indictments cover crimes the defendants allegedly committed dating back to 2021.

Their charges include conspiracy to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine — possession of a firearm while committing a crime — and distributing fentanyl.

The defendants face a minimum sentence of 10 to 35 years and a maximum of life in prison.

The 26 people who were arrested Tuesday will have their first court appearance either Tuesday night or Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Josh Porter and Frank Dahl will prosecute the cases.
