BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A recent storm system destroyed part of Grant’s Farm Produce this past weekend.

What You Need To Know

  • Grant’s Farm Produce is located on 5960 Louisville Road in Bowling Green

  • The owners are twin brothers Robert and Richard Grant

  • Storms this past weekend damaged part of the farm, including an RV where an employee was sleeping

  • Grant’s Farm Produce is still open and operating on regular hours

Richard Grant, the co-owner of Grant’s Farm Produce, said the storm tore down multiple properties at his farm.

One of them was an RV where an employee slept that night, and a rental house that Grant and his brother remodeled.

“My brother and I remodeled this 12-13 years ago and gutted it,” Grant said. “It’s a good look, the color, house was beautiful inside. And now I’ll never get it back to the way it was. I hope to. We’ll have to see.”

Grant was eight miles away from the property when the storm swept through.

A little after midnight on Monday, Grant had received multiple texts from his employees and a call from his brother.

“Robert called me and said it was like a war zone,” Grant said. “I didn’t have any idea what it was like until I got there the next morning. And then I was like, unbelievable.”

Unfortunately, this was not Grant’s first rodeo when it comes to damage caused by Kentucky’s severe weather. Back in March 2023, another storm had rolled through his birth home, destroying a chunk of its roof.

But how does Grant plan to power through the latest turmoil? With his love for his customers, and taking his challenge day by day.

“I like it when the customers come in and say ‘Hey man, your tomatoes are dynamite,’” Grant said. “You get gratification from that you can’t put a price on. They say God won’t give you any challenge you can’t handle.”
