FRANKFORT, Ky. — Mike Harmon (R) is the 47th Auditor of Public Accounts for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He was first elected to this position in November 2015. Before that, he previously served in the Kentucky House of Representatives for 13 years representing Boyle and Casey County, and previously Washington County, in the 54th District.

The 2023 Republican gubernatorial candidate recently sat down for a interview with Spectrum News 1’s Mario Anderson to discuss what he calls, his "Freedom Over Fear" campaign and what sets him apart in the crowded GOP gubernatorial primary.

In total, 15 candidates filed with the Secretary of State's office to run for Governor: 12 Republicans and 3 Democrats, including incumbent Gov. Andy Beshear.

Harmon was re-elected as state auditor in Nov. 2015. Now he's seeking higher office, but first he'll have to clear the GOP primary, which will be held Tuesday, May 16.
