KENTUCKY — With finals over across the Commonwealth, some of Kentucky's largest public universities are primed for winter commencement ceremonies this weekend.

While EKU, WKU, Murray State and Morehead State held their commencements earlier this month, here's what you should know about commencement at UK, UofL and NKU.

University of Kentucky

UK's December 2022 Commencement Ceremony will be held Friday, Dec. 16 at Rupp Arena at the Central Bank Center in Lexington.

There will be two separate ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., depending on which school students attended. The 10 a.m. ceremony will include students from the colleges of education, medicine, social work, engineering and more. The 3 p.m. ceremony celebrates the schools of nursing, communication, business and more. You can find the full lists here.

Immediately after each ceremony, the UK Alumni Association is hosting a Grad Gathering at 430 West Vine Street featuring free refreshments and gifts for all graduates in attendance.

University of Louisville

UofL's December 2022 "University-wide" Commencement Ceremony will be held Friday, Dec. 16 at the KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville. The 7 p.m. ceremony will honor all August 2022 and December 2022 degree recipients.

The Cards' ceremony will be non-ticketed and graduates can invite an unlimited number of guests, university officials said. The ceremony will be livestreamed here, where a link will be made available closer to Dec. 16.

Tons of traffic will be likely in the area on Friday, so officials suggest showing up early since the ceremony is set to begin at 7 p.m. sharp.

Northern Kentucky University

NKU is hosting morning and afternoon commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Truist Arena in Highland Heights.

At 10 a.m., graduates from the colleges of education, arts and sciences, and informatics will walk with their cap and gown. The 3 p.m. ceremony will feature the college of health and human services, as well as the Haile College of Business.
