LEXINGTON, Ky. — The early bird gets the worm on holiday deals this weekend at Lexington’s Central Bank Center.
Central Kentucky’s top jewelers, clothes, books, food and other crafters come together for the 16th Hollyday market.
The Junior League of Lexington is a part of the international women’s volunteer group that brings charitable services to all communities, including the annual November Hollyday.
“Depending on the year, we give anywhere from between $30,000 and $50,000 back into the community to support local nonprofits as well as provide volunteer hours to those nonprofits.”
Delivering deals on some of the Bluegrass’ favorites are Kentucky Proud’s cheese, fudge, and more makers Boone Creek Creamery.
“I was saying how we always have the bourbon chocolate that has a woody-barrel taste. It won’t make you feel anything but the flavor tastes great and then we have a peppermint right here and we also have Auntie M’s, which Brian made this sweet design right here.”
Kentucky Twirl’s Courtney Chaney says Holldays helps entrepreneurs like her and her sister connect with other grassroots business owners.
“Really, the small business community is all about supporting each other and being able to support one another through purchasing of items or through social media posts or things like that and just so you know when everybody in a small business community comes together it’s really nice to see that.”
Wrapping up the weekend of shopping, kids and families got a special visit from Santa and Mrs.Claus.
The Junior League of Women works with local and national nonprofit groups like the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass.
