TAYLOR MILL, Ky. — “It’s probably the highlight every year actually,” said Kayla Peterson, a senior on the Lady Eagles basketball team. Officials said over 90 vendors lined up in Scott High School’s parking lot in Taylor Mill Saturday. Peterson said it’s something they do each year as a fundraiser. It’s been going on for about 4 years now.

What You Need To Know

  • The Lady Eagles Basketball team at Scott High School puts on a Harvest Craft and Vendor Fair each year

  • The goal is to help fundraise for different things they may need each year

  • Over 90 vendors showed up Saturday

  • It was a chance for them to make some extra money while helping local high school athletes

“Travel gear is expensive and hotel and food. It’s important in that aspect,” said Grace Braden with the team.

It’s also a chance for local vendors to show their talent and get some business. Many crafts and other items were on display at this craft and vendor fair.

“A lot of people come out and support us — but then you get to see a lot of the things the community gets to create,” Peterson said.

At the end of the day, it’s a community coming together to support some of these local vendors and some athletes looking to continue doing what they love on an athletic team.

“Knowing that my skill is about to progress and I know that each year the competition gets harder,” Peterson said.

“Just the family atmosphere and being able to play in front of a great community,” Braden said.
