LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One week after Bourbon and Beyond, rock and roll fans get their chance to take over the Kentucky Expo Center for Louder Than Life 2022.
For fans like Brierly Branson, there is nowhere else she’d rather be.
“I love rock music. I love hanging out with people who like rock music and eating good food, just having a good time. It’s my favorite time of the year,” Branson said.
Some headliners this year include Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot, KISS, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Organizers say the four-day festival is expected to bring in around 40,000 guests per day. With over 100 bands playing, there is plenty of music to choose from.
While the big names draw hefty crowds, smaller bands are also enjoying the publicity. This year’s festival is the first of Canton, Ohio-based rock band ASAVA. The band’s single ’25’ gained enough popularity to top the charts for unsigned bands.
“That song pretty much won us our spot here,” Liam Brocious, singer and guitarist for ASAVA, said.
The band’s guitarist, Zachary Rusher, describes what it’s been like to be recognized by fans who are there to see the band perform.
“I don’t know, not used to that. It’s kind of neat running into people who are excited to come see us,” Rusher said.
If you are interested in attending Louder Than Life, tickets are still available for purchase online.
