NEWPORT, Ky. — Faith Community Pharmacy has been serving people for two decades now. They previously operated the facility out of Florence, but the need came to find a bigger space.

What You Need To Know

  • Faith Community Pharmacy has been serving people for 20 years now

  • The non-profit helps people who can’t afford necessary medications

  • They recently opened up a new facility in Newport

  • The facility is larger to cater to everyone

Executive Director Aaron Broomall said, “We really just outgrew the space. We needed something that was more modern. We needed something that was more accessible and now we’re on a bus line and we’re right here in the heart of where the need is.”

Broomall said the need for space and the need to help more people led them to Newport. The nonprofit has seen a 60% growth increase over the last few years and it experienced 30% growth when COVID hit. He said he’s heard several stories of people who have needed medications and couldn’t afford them.

“I can’t imagine what it feels like to know you need a medication to keep you alive, to know that it’s out there, but you just can’t afford it,” he said.

That’s why the Faith Community Pharmacy exists. Eligible patients receive necessary medications free because of the pharmacy. Broomall said the goal of the new facility is to continue catering to people.

“Really, we’re planning for the next 20 years, and this location is going to set us up for that,” he said.
