BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Longtime artist like Terry Wilson are preparing for the return of the The World's Greatest Studio tour after a year off.

What You Need To Know

  • World's Greatest Studio Tour takes place Nov. 6-7

  • The event allows the public to meet local artists

  • There will be more than 10 different studios featured

  • Works of art will be available to purchase and you can watch local artists work

Wilson specializes in the water color style painting where he has created over 150 pieces. He didn't always have a passion for art but a family friend got him hooked.

“I just started slapping paint on after a family friend held a seminar," said Wilson "It was just so relaxing and helped me de-stress and I could really breathe so I realized this is something I can do.”

Wilson now retired, previously worked for Western Kentucky University as a professor. He now is in his seventh year painting and after a year off due to COVID-19 is excited about the return.

“It gives people in this area a chance to get out and walk the street and see art as a break from everyday lives," said Wilson "Maybe some people will get motivated like I did.”

Wilson will be one of about 20 artists with pieces on display this weekend. The tour will last both Saturday and Sunday.

Wilson is also excited to show off some of his quarantine designs.

“All the stuff here are some of the things I've had some I have done over the last few months, said Wilson "So I'm excited.”

Other art will include pottery and clay artists as well. Wilson says sometimes he spends all day painting depending on the week. All participating artists will have some pieces for sale as well.
