KENTUCKY — Local health officials are encouraging people to get a flu shot, an LGBTQ+ pride festival returns for the first time in a year and a half and the fall meet kicks off at Keeneland. Those are just some of the things happening this week in Kentucky.

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is hosting a free flu shot clinic this week. It takes place Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Consolidated Baptist Church (1625 Russell Cave Rd.). Walk-ins will be accepted. People can also register online.
State health officials say there are already cases in Kentucky, despite it being early in the flu season. They are encouraging everyone to get a flu shot this year because Kentucky's hospitals are already strapped for resources due to COVID-19.
The Kentuckiana Pride Festival kicks off this weekend at Waterfront Park in Louisville. This will be the first of this festival in over a year and a half due to cancellations and postponements during the pandemic.
There will be music and entertainment. Friday's lineup includes DJ Spinderella and the Daddy Sisters. Saturday's lineup includes Neon Trees, Todrick Hall, Tiffany, Andreas Moss and Dominque Morgan.

Keeneland kicks off its fall season Friday. A big change from the spring is that it will now be back to full capacity.
The fall meet will run from Friday, Oct. 8 through Saturday, Oct. 30. No races will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays.
You can get tickets the day of the race, but Keeneland is encouraging people to buy tickets in advance in anticipation of high demand. You can do so by visiting Keeneland's website.
