HORSE CAVE, Ky. — The T. Marzetti food group broke ground on its largest expansion in company history on Thursday.

What You Need To Know

  • The expansion totals $133 million

  • It will create up to 220 new jobs

  • Expansion expected to be complete by July 2022

The $133 million project will bring over 220 jobs to Hart County and the surrounding areas. Gov. Andy Beshear visited the site to commend the expansion and is proud of the extra steps the company will take.

"Despite a global pandemic, which has taken so many lives and disrupted other lives, that has thrown supply chains into chaos, this company saw the promise, saw the hardworking people right here in Kentucky," said Beshear. "They choose to increase its investment even during its time of difficulty.”

The original plan was set for $93 million to create about 140 new jobs, and Chief Supply Chain Officer David Nagle knows just how special the employees are.

"We have great people who are very committed. They are talented. They know what they are doing," said Nagle. "We have total confidence that we can hire the people we need in this community. We know we can find the talent to help us."

The jobs will come in all different categories including maintenance and machine operations. The completion of the expansion is expected to be done by July of 2022.
